Giving During COVID 19:
We hesitate to mention church finances at this time but the question has arisen of how parishioners might continue to give to the parish during the COVID 19 pandemic.
During the current lockdown the Church is closed for worship. When it re-opens you will be able to return your Freewill Offering Envelopes at the service, however, some parishioners may not be comfortable returning to church during the pandemic even with the new protocols in place. There are a number of alternative methods of continuing to support the church in meeting its financial obligations of bills etc. but if none of the following suggestions are suitable for you, please do not worry. There will always be the opportunity for returning envelopes when you feel it is safe to return to church.
If you wish, you may send a gift by cheque in lieu of envelopes, made payable to Greenisland Parish Church and posted to: 7 Rossmore Green, Greenisland, BT38 8TF. Please include your name and envelope number if possible.
Please do not send cash in the post.
Standing Order or One-off Gift
For others who wish to and have the means to set up a Standing Order or give a single donation, you can arrange this with your bank online or by visiting your bank in person. Please include your Name and/or Envelope Number in any transaction. Our church details are:
Name of Account: Greenisland Parish Church-Freewill Offering
Sort Code: 95 01 21 Account Number: 11303104
For those who already give by Standing Order, thank you for your continued support.
To all parishioners, thank you for your understanding, and ongoing support of the Church.
Ongoing Support for the Church
Each of us is called to worship God with our entire life, including our time, talents and resources. Sharing those resources is an important way to worship the Giver of all good things. We pledge to be good stewards of your gifts, taking great care in how we manage and track the resources entrusted to us. Our annual financial report helps you evaluate how we’re doing.
You may make your gifts in a variety of forms. We can receive gifts made under the gift aid scheme. If you need a Gift aid form please contact the Church Secretary, Mrs Christine Jones.
To give regular recorded gifts you can put cash or cheques into Freewill offering envelopes. These are pre numbered envelopes available for a year. If you require Freewill offering envelopes please contact the Church Secretary, Mrs Christine Jones .
Cash & Cheques
You can give cash during Sunday-morning worship services.
Simplify your giving by authorising an automated transfer of funds (standing order) for your regular giving to The Church of the Holy Name transferring from your bank account directly to the church account. Simply fill out a Standing Order form available from the Church Secretary, Mrs Christine Jones. Once we receive your form, we will contact you to confirm the information. You may discontinue the debits at any time.
Gifts of Stocks and Shares
Stocks and shares may be donated to The Church of the Holy Name by transferring investments to us. Please let our Treasurer know about any pending transfers so that we will be aware of any activity and handle it properly.
You can leave gifts in your will to The Church of the Holy Name, which under current HMRC rules may reduce your Inheritance Tax liability. Speak to a solicitor or our minister Rev Paul Lyons for more information.
